Homemade Cherry Pie Bars

Is there whatever prettier than a cherry or strawberry dessert? i like the colors, i like the flavors and they are best for the vacations. you may use any taste pie filling to exchange it up a bit. Blueberry is another favorite of mine. As always, i really like including a bit almond extract in conjunction with whatever cherry. It certainly complements the cherry taste with out overwhelming it.
SMOOTH TO MAKE AND SERVE
You'll need a bigger baking sheet for this. it's miles often called a jelly roll pan. trust me, it’ll get a ton of use after you make these bars one time. You’ll be hooked! I simply understand you're going to fall in love with those bars. The cherry filling plays peekaboo around the dollops of dough. They slice up and serve superbly.
INGREDIENTS:
For the bars:
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks) softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 21 oz cans cherry pie filling
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350°f.
- In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar and salt until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, separately, beating nicely after each addition. Beat in extracts. step by step upload flour.
- Spread three cups dough right into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. unfold with pie filling.
- Drop final dough by means of teaspoonfuls over filling. Bake 30-35 mins or till golden brown.
- Cool absolutely in pan on a cord rack.
- In a small bowl, blend powdered sugar, extracts and sufficient milk to reach desired consistency; drizzle over pinnacle.
